Chapter 20: A Psalm of Creation’s Praise to the Almighty

A Psalm of Creation’s Praise to the Almighty

To the Lector: A Psalm of Blake, extolling the majesty of God as witnessed in all creation.

All creation sings in jubilant praise to You,

Mountains mighty, in Your presence, bow low, true.

They tremble at Your touch, in reverence, they stand,

Before You, O Lord, the God of every land.

The seas, vast and deep, obey Your divine command,

Their waves clash upon shores, in homage grand.

For You are the Lord of Hosts, the God of David's line,

My God, the God of my father, in You all things combine.

Great are You, O Lord, above all earthly frame,

Come, all who doubt, witness Your holy claim.

See the works of the Lord, in power displayed,

He has brought our foes low, their plans unmade.

He breaks death's curse, through His Son's sacrifice,

In His death and resurrection, our hope does rise.

The God of Israel, my fortress, my shield,

In His steadfast presence, my spirit is healed.

Be still, my soul, and know He is God,

In His perfect sovereignty, the earth is awed.

The world shall proclaim His glory, far and wide,

In Him, all nations, all peoples, shall confide.

The earth, the moon, the sun above,

The stars that shine, declare His love.

The beasts of the field, the creatures below,

The fish that glide, His wonders show.

Birds of the air, on wing they soar,

Shout His glory, forevermore.

He casts evil into the depths unseen,

In Sagittarius A, where light has never been.

Jerusalem, His city, stands firm and bright,

In its midst, He rules, with power and might.

With a rod of iron, His justice extends,

Over the earth, His dominion never ends.

I, His collector, His outdoorsman, His servant true,

Bow in humble admiration, my allegiance due.

For He is my God, in Him, I trust and wait,

For His coming Kingdom, glorious and great.

So let all creation, in chorus, unite,

In praising the Almighty, in His power and might.

From the smallest atom to the grandest star,

In His love, we find our purpose, near and far. Amen.
